WHY I'M RUNNING

Bringing Experience Home

I'm running for Tribal Council Member At Large to bring my wide and varied financial and leadership experience to the decision table so that we can quickly capitalize on all opportunities afforded to us. With our sovereign nation status and robust economic engine, we can greatly enhance the quality of life for our tribal citizens and the Indian community at large while reminding the public of our commitment and cultural connection to our native land as its perpetual stewards.

I believe that my small business ownership and corporate experience combined with my education and teaching roles can bring a fresh informed voice to Tribal Council. Constructive dialogue, transparency, and a diversity of viewpoints inherently strengthen all organizations, and I promise to be a conscientious advocate for tribal members’ needs and concerns.

I have a proven track record of leading teams and achieving demonstrable results whether it be in business, education, creative arts, or farming. I also believe strongly in continuing education for people of all walks of life. Education shouldn't simply be defined as attending college, education is about mastering new skills, including cultural, vocational, and practical skills that will lead to a fulfilling and self-supporting life that contributes to the greater society. I’m especially proud that our tribe provides tuition assistance so that a member can receive training and become an expert mechanic, healthcare worker, climate change scientist, Native American lawyer, etc. The most important thing we can do as a nation is to empower our youth to reach their fullest potential on their own unique journey.

I welcome you to contact me with your questions or feedback. I’d especially like to hear about any suggestions and improvements you’d like to see made in the next few years.
